The Dóchas Conference 2018 – Changing the Narrative: Building Support for Global Development – will consider the challenges and opportunities to engage the Irish public in the fight against global poverty, inequality and injustice.

You will hear from expert speakers and participate in workshops to stimulate ideas and learning on how we can tell our story about the importance of global justice and equality. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite.

The Dóchas Conference 2018 aims to:

Convene a space for members of civil society to discuss challenges and celebrate successes

Develop a narrative for change

Inspire greater collaboration

Speakers
The Conference will feature a diverse range of internationally-regarded speakers, including:

Heba Aly, Director, IRIN, who will explore the dangers of junk news, and how we need to find methods of talking about complex issues in an easier way

Dr Danny Sriskandarajah, Secretary General and CEO, CIVICUS, who will tell us why we, civil society, remain relevant, but that we need to build a dynamic global solidarity movement

Judith Greenwood, Executive Director, CHS Alliance, will consider how we can improve public trust and build a culture of greater accountability and transparency through standards and codes

Rafeef Ziadah, spoken word artist and human rights activist

Our MC for the day will be journalist and broadcaster Dil Wickremasinghe.
